Bodywork

INTEGRATED THAI BODYWORK is based on Traditional Thai Massage (TTM), incorporating knowledge and working techniques from Acupressure, Shiatsu (Japan), Tui-na (China), Deep Tissue Massage, Gentle Touch of Cranio-Sacral, etc.

Stress, tension, worries, injuries, restricted body movements and wrong holding patterns influence the condition of fascia, muscles, tendons, joints, nerves and organs of the body and constrict the flow of energy. This causes discomfort, tiredness, aches and pains, skeletal mal-alignment and depression and can lead to severe health problems.

Chi, our life force, moves through the body's internal channels (called "Meridians" in Chinese, "Sen" in Pali-Sanskrit, "Nadis" in Sanskrit), nervous system, blood vessels, etc. Through "listening" and palpating, physical and energetic blockages are sensed and dealt with. Stimulation of those channels through application of pressure, movement, rocking and breathing techniques, as well as using the gentle touch of cranio-sacral bodywork for creating space in the fascia, helps to relieve pain and allows the free flow of energy within the bodily systems. Some sensible stretches and gentle manipulation of joints can become a supportive part of the work, as well as abdominal massage for release of toxins. The East recognizes the abdomen as the energy-centre of the body where unhealthy negative energy is also stored. Therefore, putting attention into this area is essential to one's healing process.

Silky integrates various methods in her work, improvising with rhythm and intuition within a meditative approach to treatment. Being aware of the human body's intelligence and ability for self correction and healing, Silky sees herself as a facilitator for people on their way to maintain, improve or re-gain their physical and mental health, rather than being someone that "fixes" or "repairs" another's problems. Therefore, a treatment bases on the cooperative relationship between the "receiver" and "giver".

Results of this cooperation are flexibility, free motions of limbs and joints and an improved blood, nerve impulse and energy flow. As the client comes in contact with her/his life force, she/he experiences relief of pain, vitality and a sense of well-being, lightness, clarity, and a state of relaxation.

Physical and mental bodies are interrelated, building an inseparable and holistic system. One feeds the other. Emotional imbalances and disturbances sooner or later manifest in the physical system, causing the probelms mentioned above. Through the physical body we access the emotional one.

INTEGRATED THAI BODYWORK is a mindful and effective bodywork, individually created for the specific needs of the "receiver". It helps prevent dis-ease as well as provides a space for healing any already manifested problems. It awakens ones awareness and understanding for ones own physical and mental condition, holding patterns, expressions and subtle processes within oneself and is a step towards an energetically balanced body and mind. Our physical body is a door to discover our inner space. It is a journey.

Responsibility for treatments rests upon the individual and should not be taken to replace the advice or direction of a medical doctor.
